EU Unit, Ministry of Justice

Do you want to work at the intersection of EU law and the government's legal processes and contribute to Sweden's work in the EU at the highest level? Then we have an interesting job for you.

Your workday. Sweden's tomorrow.

We are currently looking for lawyers who want to contribute to the EU Unit's work on legal issues. This includes, for example, participating in the handling of the Ministry of Justice's cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the General Court, and providing support to the units regarding these cases. The tasks also include providing support regarding the implementation of EU law and in processes that may follow from delayed or incorrect implementation. It also includes supporting the substantive units in EU negotiations, particularly regarding issues concerning primary law, EU legal principles, and case law. Other tasks at the unit may also become relevant, depending on the unit's needs.

The work involves close contact with the substantive units within the ministry, but also with persons in corresponding functions at other ministries, not least at the Prime Minister's Office. The work may also involve collaboration with special attachés stationed in Brussels, and other international contacts.
